Research Presentation at the Annual Biomedical Research Conference For Minoritized Scientists 2023 in Phoenix, Arizona

This year, Ruhshana received the opportunity to attend the Annual Biomedical Research Conference For Minoritized Scientists Conference (ABRCMS 2023) to present her group’s research poster focused on analyzing health conditions, privacy, and utility tradeoffs in smart home devices. ABRCMS took place in Phoenix, Arizona.

The research abstract and poster written and contributed to by Ruhshana Bobojonova, Luke Zimmerman, Tartela Tabassum, Josh Cheeks, and Dr. Roberto Yus were approved by the ABRCMS committee, and Ruhshana received the opportunity to present at one of the biggest biomedical research conferences in the nation. Ruhshana also attended workshops focused on setting students up for success in graduate school as well as networked with representatives from universities and biomedical companies. One of the biggest things that stood out to Ruhshana was UMBC’s big representation in the conference. There were many keynote speakers, faculty, and students who represented UMBC!
